Fiber Unbundling

The Council strongly supports the continuation of the FCC's 2003 policy exempting all-fiber networks from requirements that incumbent telephone companies lease out access to their lines to other service providers.

The Fiber to the Home Council Americas (the “FTTH Council” or “Council”) herebysubmits its first intervention in response to the Notice of Consultation (CRTC 2013-551) issuedby the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (“CRTC” or“Commission”). The CRTC is reviewing the regulatory status of wholesale services and relatedpolicies in Canada, including the “appropriateness of mandating new wholesale services,including fiber-to-the-premises facilities.”
