The Fiber Optic Sensing Association (FOSA) has urged House and Senate Committees to incorporate advanced technologies that will help make the nation’s infrastructure safer, more resilient and longer lasting.
FOSA commended the recent introduction of an infrastructure package by 31 House Energy and Commerce Committee members, the Leading Infrastructure For Tomorrow’s America Act, or LIFT America Act (H.R. 2741). Smart Infrastructure technology will spur continued economic growth.
The Fiber Optic Sensing Association, the US’ leading organisation association focused on fiber optic sensing, was one of 11 signatories of a letter requesting congress incorporate smart technologies in order to improve and transform infrastructure around the country.
“FOSA is pleased to participate in ICSIC and then to continue the discussions at our own mid-year meeting in Cambridge,” said FOSA Chairman JJ Williams. “We believe fiber optic sensing will play a critical role in smart infrastructure construction around the world over the next few years."
The Fiber Optic Sensing Association has been joined by ten other leading technology trade associations in urging Congress to fully incorporate smart technologies into proposals to improve and transform U.S. infrastructure.
