Today, the Fiber to the Home Council Americas (FTTH Council) along with Canby Telcom and the Canby, Oregon community celebrated the third annual “Gimme Fiber Day.”
At a hearing entitled “Breaking Down Barriers to Broadband Infrastructure Deployment,” Gold testified about ways to streamline the federal construction permitting process and expand statutory rights to access to poles, ducts and conduit to accelerate the deployment of broadband to more Americans.
Communities need fiber, and there are a host of ways they can organize to make that happen. But the federal government needs to make sure it does not stand in the way.
