During today’s FTTH Connect 2016 conference, the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Council Americas released a study finding fiber broadband increases rental and property values in multiple dwelling units (MDUs) by 8 percent and 2.8 percent respectively.
Connectivity is a path to greater opportunity. In today’s world, broadband and fluency with technology fuel economic growth, provide access to the world’s knowledge, promote skill development, and build stronger and more connected communities.
We applaud Google and Huntsville for their announcement today of a public-private partnership to bring gigabit fiber to Huntsville residents. The FTTH Council believes all fiber networks are essential for communities, and that each community should have every opportunity to get better broadband.
“From our survey of North American broadband providers, we’ve found that fiber to the home deployment has continued to grow steadily and 2015 marks the second biggest year for expansion since the technology became available,” said Michael Render, President of RVA, LLC.
