WASHINGTON, D.C. and LONDON—(April 19, 2021)—The Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) today announced that it is an Association Partner for Total Telecom’s Gigabit Access virtual event, held 20-21 April 2021. The event will explore the role that next-generation access technologies are playing in network development. On Tuesday, 20 April, at 3:20pm BST, FBA President and CEO Gary Bolton will provide a virtual presentation on “The State of Fibre” in the U.S.
The Gigabit Access event will bring together thought leaders in access network deployment and enable collaboration that explores how emerging technologies are revolutionising network strategy and management. During the FBA’s video presentation, Bolton will provide insights into the growth of fibre broadband and new government support and funding for broadband initiatives. He will also share a study that proves Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellites will not provide the sufficient capacity needed for today’s broadband demand and need for high-speed Internet service.
“It is such an exciting time for the fibre industry and in our mission to accelerate the deployment of fibre broadband. I look forward to sharing with Gigabit Access attendees the momentum we’re currently experiencing and where we see great opportunities. For example, during my presentation I will share a success story where a fibre project created nearly 10,000 jobs, reduced outages across an entire county, and created a better customer experience and foundation for smart grid,” said Bolton. “Real-world deployments like this demonstrate that fibre is the ultimate broadband gold standard for delivering energy efficient, secure, limitless capacity, future proof network that connects people to their jobs, education and improved quality of life.”
