Rancho Cucamonga, CA Hires Magellan Advisors for Turnkey Design and Implementation of the City's Fiber Utility
Denver, CO, Nov 13, 2017 The City of Rancho Cucamonga, CA has re-engaged Magellan Advisors, the nation's leading broadband and smart city development firm, to provide turnkey broadband engineering design and implementation for the City's fiber utility. Magellan Advisors will provide all fiber design engineering, network implementation and project management for the City's fiber utility. In addition, Magellan will lead negotiations with retail Internet services providers to create a broadband public-private partnership that will enable next-generation broadband to Rancho Cucamonga businesses, anchor organizations, and potentially residents.
In 2016 the City contracted with Magellan Advisors to develop a Fiber-Optic Master Plan a plan which would outline specifically how the City could use its existing infrastructure assets, along with additional incremental investment to drive economic development, retain and enhance existing business opportunities and enable smart city initiatives. Magellan Advisors developed a phased, year-by-year deployment plan for the City that leveraged its current assets and new investments, based on real-world opportunities that Magellan Advisors identified for the City in the Plan.
