FTTH Council Applauds Google Fiber's Expansion

Google Fiber just announced they will be offering service to Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville.

The following statement may be attributed to Heather Burnett Gold, President of the Fiber to the Home Council (FTTH) Americas:
The FTTH Council applauds Google Fiber and the cities of Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville and Raleigh-Durham for making their residents part of the “Gigabit Nation” and the benefits that come with it.  Fiber is on fire: Communities must be planning/deploying gigabit infrastructure today in order to be part of the global economy tomorrow. And even the communities not on Google’s list can get fiber ready using resources found in our Community Toolkit including Google’s Fiber Ready Checklist to attract investment for fiber deployments. We look forward to working with more communities and companies in this effort.
