Pedro Barbosa, Industry Sector Manager (Pipelines), presented at the Virtual Pipeline Summit last week. His presentation entitled ‘The Integrated Solution of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for a Rapid Response to Protect Pipelines’ allowed for engagement and interesting questions around the technology and its application in real-world scenarios. Pedro focused specifically on the importance of low false alarm rates, which are critical to avoid unnecessary UAV deployments and how this can be achieved by selecting technically advanced alarm identification software and appropriate UAV specification to create an efficient response system. If you would like to watch the replay you can register on the Virtual Pipeline Summit website to receive a link or contact Pedro directly firstname.lastname@example.org.
