Fiber Broadband Association Welcomes Release of White House Broadband Report

This morning, the White House released the American Broadband Initiative Milestones Report. It outlines multi-agency plans to increase broadband access in rural America.

The Fiber Broadband Association welcomes the release of the report from the Departments of Agriculture and Commerce. All-fiber networks are fundamental for our broadband future, and this report highlights reforms federal agencies have undertaken to accelerate the deployment and adoption of high-performance connectivity. We applaud the measures that are discussed in today’s report for streamlining federal permitting processes and maximizing the impact of federal funding. These will help propel the deployment of all-fiber connectivity, especially to rural residents. The Fiber Broadband Association stands ready to assist the federal government and all entities wherever possible as they take steps to provide all Americans with access to our 21st Century information highways.
