FBA Comments Filed in FCC's Investigation into Overlashing Requirements

We filed reply comments last Friday in FCC’s Investigation into Overlashing Requirements. Our reply Comments are supported by an affidavit by Fiber Broadband Association member: Steve Sellenriek, President of Sellenriek Construction Incorporated describing how important overlashing is to the rapid deployment of fiber infrastructure, cutting deployment time by 1/3.  However, Sellenriek reported on how pole owners frequently require overlashers to perform unnecessary and expensive analysis prior to overlashing, slowing down the process and adding significantly to the cost. It is this kind of undermining of broadband deployment that the FCC could eliminate with the adoption of an “attach and notify” process.
